Review by hotel critic
During my recent business trip to Manchester, I had the opportunity to stay at the Normanhurst Hotel, a charming former 19th-century manor house that sits along the picturesque Brooklands Road. The spacious rooms were both comfortable and well-equipped, reflecting the property’s historic charm—perfect for unwinding after a day of meetings. I particularly appreciated the peaceful gardens surrounding the hotel, which provided a relaxing nature backdrop to engage in quiet reflection or pleasant conversation with my colleagues. While the staff were welcoming, I felt a lack of clarity about the services available at the hotel; for example, I wasn't informed about the full English breakfast served in the spacious dining hall daily or the inviting conservatory bar area. Nevertheless, the location is a distinct advantage, with easy access to the Metrolink for convenient travel throughout Manchester. Normanhurst offers a unique combination of historical elegance and practical amenities, though I believe better communication regarding services could greatly enhance the guest experience. While it may not have been my ideal choice, it remains a commendable option for travelers seeking comfort and accessibility in southern Manchester.
